Yes, I’m Paranoid

Expectations and assumptions,
Inoculated in my mind.

Gripping my conscience,

Like wind in my heart’s chime.
Beautiful as she was,

Gleaming like a dove.

The blunt face of reality,

Laughed hysterically at my love’s masquerade.
From the melancholic attributes,

To the cynical remarks.

The core of my heart,

Is decorated with scars.
Is it a beautiful cover up?

Maybe a sparkling facade…

I just want it to dissolve,

Because the reality seems too hard.
After all that I describe,

I continue to smile.

I continue to exist,

I continue to thrive.
Yes, I am high.

You may call me mad.

The challenges seem too lovely,

Yes, I am paranoid.
